Career Connections Inc. is a supported employment agency for people with a disability.

I came to Career Connections on a referral from the Society for Manitobans with a Disability. It should be noted that I have a physical disability (mild cerebral Palsy) as well as being the fortunate recipient of a heart transplant in November of 1999 for which I am very grateful to the donor's family everyday.

When I came to Career Connections I was introduced to Employment Counsellor - Kevin Boyd. We had an instant rapport with one another.

After working with Kevin for some time and placed in a couple of work training situations I began to get to know the staff of Career Connections very well.

It was when another employee was about to relocate that the position of receptionist became available and I was asked if I would be interested.

Well, that was over six years ago and I enjoy my work very much. I am in constant contact with our many clients and sister agencies (Vocational Rehabilitation, SMD and Mental Health Workers) to name a few.

Career Connections staff is wonderful and they have provided me with very rewarding and full time employment.

I enjoy the fact that I get to see every day just how our staff gives their all to helping our clients achieve and maintain meaningful employment.
